This notice explains what personal information GBAS Worldwide Ltd collects when you ask us
for a quote or ship cargo with us, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights
you have. If anything here is unclear, email
[email protected] and we will explain it plainly.
Who we are
GBAS Worldwide Ltd is the data controller. We are a UK-registered company
(Company No. 16358607) at 105 Frizlands Lane, Dagenham, RM10 7HL. You can reach us on
07459 488491 or at
[email protected].
What we collect
- When you request a quote: your name, phone number, email address, the
collection area, the destination in Nigeria, and what you are sending.
- When you message us on WhatsApp, call or email: whatever you choose to
tell us, plus your phone number or email address.
- When you book a shipment: collection and delivery addresses, the
recipient's name and phone number, and a description and value of the contents — customs
authorities require these.
- Automatically: our host records standard technical information such as
IP address and browser type for security and to keep the site running.
If — and only if — you accept analytics cookies, we also collect information about how you use the site: pages viewed, how you arrived, roughly where in the world you are, and how you scroll and click. We never use advertising cookies and we do not sell data to anyone.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To prepare and send you a quote — steps taken at your request before
entering a contract.
- To carry out the shipment you booked — performance of our contract with
you, including collection, transport and delivery.
- To complete customs formalities in the UK and Nigeria — a legal
obligation. Customs authorities require the sender's and recipient's details and an
accurate description of the contents.
- To keep accounting records — a legal obligation under UK tax law.
We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.
Who we share it with
Only the parties needed to actually move your cargo and run the business:
- Airlines, shipping lines and their handling agents.
- Customs authorities and clearing agents in the UK and Nigeria — this is a legal
requirement, not a choice.
- Our delivery partners in Nigeria, who receive the recipient's name, address and phone
number so they can deliver.
- Our email provider (Zoho Mail) and the service that delivers quote-form messages to our
inbox (Resend), which process the message so it reaches us.
- Our accountant, and any authority we are legally obliged to disclose to.
- If you accepted analytics cookies: Google (Analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity), which receive information about how the site is used — never the details you submit on the quote form.
Sending information to Nigeria
Delivering cargo to Nigeria means the recipient's name, address and phone number are shared
with our delivery partners and the Nigeria Customs Service there. Nigeria is outside the UK,
and it does not have a UK adequacy decision. We share only what is necessary to complete the
delivery and the customs formalities, and we do it because it is necessary to perform the
contract you asked us to carry out.
How long we keep it
- Quote enquiries that do not become bookings: up to 12 months, so we can
follow up and answer questions about a price we gave you.
- Shipment and transaction records: at least 6 years, because UK tax and
customs rules require it.
- WhatsApp and email conversations: as long as the related enquiry or
shipment record, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything inaccurate;
- delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- provide it in a portable format.
Email [email protected] and we will respond within one
month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the
Information Commissioner's Office at
ico.org.uk
or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies and analytics
We set no cookies at all until you choose to allow them. When you first
visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Refusing is one click and is
no harder than accepting — nothing loads if you decline, and the site behaves identically
either way. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a
refusal and do not ask.
If you accept, two services run:
- Google Analytics 4 — tells us how many people visit, which pages
they read and how they found us, so we know what is useful and what is not.
- Microsoft Clarity — records anonymised interaction data such as
scrolling and clicks, and produces heatmaps, so we can see where the site is confusing
and fix it.
Our lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time
by clicking Cookie settings in the footer of any page and choosing
Reject. Both services are operated by a company
based in the United States, so accepting means this usage data is transferred there
under their standard safeguards. It is not used for advertising, and it never receives
the personal details you give us on the quote form.
Separately, the map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps and loads only when
you scroll to it; Google may set its own cookies at that point.
